Charitable work is central to our culture

Charities & Fundraising

We have a long and proud record of charitable work which remains central to our culture. Our Charity Committee works within set criteria (although exceptional cases are always given a hearing).

The charities to whom we give must meet one or more of the following criteria:

  • be local to the London or Sheffield office
  • help children who are sick and/or disadvantaged
  • be of a size where we can make a difference
  • reflect the ethics and ethos of our business
  • personally affect people in the firm whether groups or individuals
  • support cancer related fund raising, volunteering, services or research

Each year, both the London and the Sheffield Office nominate their Charities of the Year that will be the focus of their donations and fundraising efforts. In 2011/2012, the joint charity is Macmillan Cancer Support.

In addition, during 2010/2011, we supported other charities by direct donations, matching our staff’s fundraising efforts or volunteering through the firm's Nabarro in the Community Day Scheme, including:

  • Red Cross Appeal for Japan
  • Jeans for Genes
  • Help for Heroes
  • Coram
  • Teenage Cancer Trust
  • Oxfam
  • Marchmont Community Centre
  • Fairbridge
  • Whitechapel Mission
  • Sparks Children's Medical Research Charity
