Charities of the Year 2007-2008

Kids Company

Kids Company provides practical, emotional and educational support to profoundly vulnerable young people in London. It supports more than 12,000 children through its Drop-In Centre (Arches 11), its Urban Academy and its work in 33 inner-city schools.

We contributed to the Christmas Day/Boxing Day celebrations to transport over 1,000 young people living in hostels and on the street to the Drop-In Centre and to provide all of them with two Christmas meals and a Christmas present.
We funded the re-equipping of the gym at the Urban Academy – a really essential facility, much used and appreciated by young people.

We were proud to support three young people from Kids Company in the London Marathon 2008 by holding a Gala Academy Dinner in our London Office.

Neurocare

In 2007, £37,000 was raised through the efforts of people in the Sheffield office for the Brainwave Appeal run by Neurocare, a charity which had established the appeal to buy state of the art scanners for Sheffield’s Royal Hallamshire Hospital and Children's Hospitals, and is one of our Charities of the Year. Fund-raising started at the sharp end when 22 Nabarro people walked over red hot coals in aid of Neurocare’s £500,000 Brainwave appeal.
