Corporate Responsibility: A reflection of our commitment

I Love Sheffield Day - 12 February 2010

The Nabarro Sheffield office took part in "I Love Sheffield Day" on 12 February 2010. "I Love Sheffield Day" was the brainchild of the South Yorkshire Community Foundation (SYCF). SYCF aims to improve lives in Sheffield communities through raising funds to meet the needs of local people facing economic hardship and other barriers to aspiration. Their aim in developing "I Love Sheffield Day" was to encourage local people to raise money for local causes, while also giving them the chance to reflect on the reasons that they love their city.

We raised £219.10 through staff wearing jeans and taking part in a picture quiz of Sheffield landmarks. The winner of the quiz was Nicola Power in the Environment team, with a very impressive 41 correct answers out of 42! Every £1 raised by SYCF is matched with another pound from government funding. This means that, once Gift Aid is added, Sheffield projects will actually receive more than £500 from our donation.
