Nabarro launches LGBT Group – Out 'N' About

Nabarro has launched its lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) group, Out ‘N’ About in Sheffield, which is part of a wider diversity and corporate social responsibility programme at Nabarro specifically focusing on LGBT issues. The launch took place at Nabarro's Sheffield office on 21 April and was attended by a number of guests from local businesses and public sector organisations. The evening (organised by Managing Associate Jane Turley in co-operation with Sheffield LGBT group 'OutofOffice') included guest speakers from Stonewall, Redemption Media and Pink Counselling, as well as a speed- networking session run by Senior Associate Paul Pinder.

Jane Turley commented '"We have received a lot of positive feedback to tell us the evening was a huge success and we are delighted to have raised the profile of the Nabarro LGBT network in our region."

Out ‘N’ About, chaired by Partner Darren Stolzenberg, has been launched to increase the firm’s awareness and understanding of issues facing LGBT employees within the firm, supporting employees internally and ensuring that the firm’s policies, procedures and practices are not prejudicial to LGBT people.

Darren Stolzenberg says: “We will hold regular meetings to gauge the views of members on issues affecting LGBT employees and matters relating to the wider diversity initiative with a view to shaping the firm’s internal policies and working practices.”
