Corporate Responsibility: A reflection of our commitment

Secure Print

In October 2010, Nabarro LLP introduced 'Secure Print' to all MFDs (multifunctional devices for printing, copying, scanning etc) in the London office. This is part of an ongoing programme to reduce our carbon footprint. Secure print is the ability to print to a virtual print queue rather than direct to an MFD. The print job only gets released by the user at the printer, using the office security card.

With secure print we expect there to be a reduction of 10% - 20% of pages printed. This is based on a number of factors - reduction of wasted pages when people do not pick up their print jobs; avoiding duplicated printing due to a printer not working and the elimination of separator pages. Printing from the MFD devices is also much more economical in terms on toner and electricity usage.

Nabarro is encouraging people to print as much as they can to the MFDs. Clare Grayston, the partner responsible for corporate responsibility reporting, commented "We get through a significant amount of paper each year and are committed to a substantial reduction over the remainder of this financial year and going forward. This is one of a number of measures being taken, including moving the whole of the firm to electronic filing."
