Nabarro supports City Solicitors Educational Trust (CSET) Summer School
Nabarro is one of a number of law firms to sponsor the City Solicitors Educational Trust (CSET) Summer School. The school is part of a new initiative geared towards greater diversity, and the first school took place at Imperial College, London in the last week of July 2008.
The concept of the CSET Summer School was launched in late 2007, when a group of City law firms joined together to establish a unique opportunity specifically designed to identify and encourage university students from a diverse range of backgrounds to consider a career in law.
104 students from nearly 50 universities around the UK attended the course, which consisted of an intensive five day programme of group and individual structured sessions, and business and social networking opportunities. Each place was fully expense paid and accommodation was provided on the Imperial College campus.
Students were given insights into the legal profession and spent time with trainees and recruiters from the sponsor firms learning about the range of services and practice areas. Students also developed writing skills and participated in a debating competition to help build confidence in structuring and presenting an argument. The week concluded with a graduation dinner at the Law Society.
