Nabarro takes part in Whitechapel Mission clothing challenge

On 6 April 2011, four volunteers from Nabarro attended the Whitechapel Mission to help sort donated clothes for the homeless. This was a full day challenge for which the volunteers used their Nabarro in the Community Day.

The Whitechapel Mission is a well-established centre for the homeless based in East London. It provides a number of invaluable services for the homeless including serving a daily hot breakfast, providing advice and lifeskills clinics, and distributing donated clothing. The clothing challenge requires volunteers to sort through hundreds of donated clothes to establish which are in a fit condition to be distributed to the centre's clients, and then sorting those that make the grade into clothing type and menswear and womenswear. The Mission requires hundred of clothes to be sorted everyday since it offers the facility for the homeless to have a hot shower and take a complete outfit of clean clothes everyday.

The volunteers from Nabarro all remarked on how much they enjoyed the day, and how impressed they were with the Mission's activities. This is always a popular challenge for Nabarro volunteers since the team at the Mission take a lot of time to explain what they do, and to give an insight into the lives of the homeless people they help.
