Sporty Nabarro volunteers help Fairbridge youngsters

On Thursday 31 March 2011, two Nabarro volunteers joined teams from British Land and HSBC to help a group of Fairbridge youngsters achieve their Community Sports Leadership Award.

Fairbridge is a national charity that works with disadvantaged young people, to help them get back into employment, training and education. The CSLA is an invaluable means of helping the young people to build their leadership skills, and is an important step in their overall development. The Award requires young people from Fairbridge lead volunteers in a number of activities, which they have planned themselves, to demonstrate their leadership skills. They can then use the CSLA as a stepping stone to further qualifications in sport.

The Nabarro volunteers took part in a number of activities including football, basketball, sprinting, press-ups and squats on the day. These activities were all led by the Fairbridge young people, whom the volunteers commented on as being really engrossed and passionate about the day. Fairbridge, too, were very impressed with the Nabarro volunteers, who once again were in the overall winning team!

All in all the volunteers had a great day and commented that they enjoyed being able to make a difference for members of Fairbridge.
