Nabarro volunteers give a makeover to children's day centre

Five volunteers used their Nabarro Day to give a makeover to Toffee Park adventure playground in EC1 on 23 July 2010. The purpose of the day was to get the playground ready for the influx of children during the summer holidays.

The volunteers helped out with a range of tasks which included clearing, painting and cleaning the art room and kitchen, trimming hedges, pruning and weeding in the garden areas, erecting a tepee in the playground and setting up activities for the children to get stuck into.

St. Luke's Parochial Trust, who organised the day, thanked the Nabarro volunteers for "making a huge difference to Toffee Park". Feedback from the volunteers was also excellent: one commented that they enjoyed "working hard, working outdoors and helping make a difference" and another added that "it was nice to see everyone mucking in".
