Ride for Life

The morning of 7 June arrived as a bright and sunny day, although maybe not quite as warm as it had been, which was a great relief. I was hoping it wasn’t going to be too hot as my horse, Krystal, was going to have to do all the hard work.
We arrived at the event in good time and got ourselves dressed up and were amazed by the sight of horses and horse boxes as far as the eye could see! We got to the start and set off at noon. The Ride itself was brilliant, ten miles around fields full of peas, wheat crops and through woodland. The weather held good and it was a very moving, peaceful and inspiring day. Krystal got better the further she went and ended up jogging most of the way. She was in supreme form and cruised the whole way round – we even had to wait for the others!
The day was made even more special by the amount of sponsorship we received for the event. This year we raised a truly staggering amount for Cancer Research UK and it is for this purpose I want to thank everyone who supported me for your commitment to this wonderful charity. Your individual generosity along with the kind donation from the Partners of Nabarro LLP, added to support from friends, family and the staff and directors of London Biggin Hill Airport, raised the fantastic sum of £1,400.
I am sure we all know someone who has been touched by this terrible disease and it is through events and support such as yours that allows this Charity to carry out its vital research.
Needless to say I owe it all to Krystal who excelled herself on the day! I am totally overwhelmed by your generosity and would again like to thank you again, not only personally but on behalf of Cancer Research UK.
